Overview
The successful cooperation between Germany and African Countries from the North to the South is underlined by many political, economic and cultural initiatives that are contributing to both sides and enabling the ongoing “Rise of Africa.” Indeed, over the course of the last decade, the world has witnessed major positive developments in Africa that will continue to influence and speed up the modernization process in Africa. Germany, on the other hand, has the unique knowledge, recourses and capabilities to positively influence and contribute to this important historic phenomenon of the Rise of Africa.
It is with this important opportunity in mind, that the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy has initiated the Rise of Africa 2016 conference in order to strengthen the economic and cultural bridges between Germany and Africa with the ultimate goal of fostering further cultural, business, investment and tourism exchange between Africa and Germany.
The conference will bring together decision makers and business leaders, as well as representatives of global governance institutions, financial institutions, civil society and experts from the fields of business, investment, economics and cultural diplomacy. The event will include keynote addresses, lectures, and interactive panel discussions and debates in order to create a platform for new initiatives to be created and proposed. Special receptions and other networking functions will be an integral part of the conference in order to foster and enable direct B2B opportunities and the organizers expect that the event will result in new business deals and contract for the stakeholders and participants.
Conference Locations
Based in Berlin, the conference will be hosted in the ICD House of Arts & Culture and at the German Parliament.
Conference Speakers
Speakers and delegates during the symposium will include leading politicians, chief diplomats, leading governmental officials, senior academics, renowned authors, journalists, and celebrated artists. These speakers will include a large number of individuals from the ICD Advisory Board.

Certificate of Attendance
All Symposium participants will be awarded an official Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the program, which will provide details of the speakers who took part in the event, and list the topics which were discussed. The Conference Committee encourages academic research and analysis of issues related to the goals of the Conference. The Conference Committee would therefore like to welcome the participants of the conference to submit a paper they would like to be considered for presentation at the conference as well as being included in the proposal document that will be issued following the conference and will be sent to all governments and leaders of the international community worldwide.Sustainable Network »
During the program participants will have a number of opportunities to network with one another, with the speakers, and with ICD Board Members and partners. Conference participants will become part of the ICD Alumni, a growing international network of people of diverse interests and backgrounds from around the world who share a commitment to intercultural exchange.
